The USMNT is preparing during the January camp ahead of their matches against Venezuela and Costa Rica on January 18 and 22, respectively.

As these games approach, there’s plenty of relevant news about American players.

Just a few hours ago, we reported that Fulham have rejected all offers for Antonee Robinson amid interest from top Premier League clubs.

Another player who seems unlikely to change teams in Europe is Ricardo Pepi, as PSV reportedly have no intention of letting him leave.

But today, we’ll focus on another USMNT player, DeJuan Jones.

DeJuan Jones, ‘still thinking about’ going to Europe

In an interview with CBS Sports, USMNT defender DeJuan Jones spoke about the January camp and the upcoming matches against Venezuela and Costa Rica.

However, he also took a moment to address the possibility of leaving MLS to pursue a career in European football.

The 27-year-old full-back was asked about the topic and responded: “Europe’s always been a dream of mine. So, I’m going to do everything I can to perform here in these two games, and then focus on the Crew season.”

He added that he’s keeping the door open, saying: “And, you know, with good performances comes good opportunities. So, I’m still keeping that door open. And if something comes across, then I’ll be very happy to explore Europe and show what I can do at that level as well.”

Jones concluded by making it clear that playing in Europe remains a goal of his: “Definitely something that I’m still thinking about, something that I still aspire to get to. And, yeah, it’s going to be me playing my best soccer and showing what I can do to get there.”

What’s next for the USMNT?

The next two matches for the United States are friendlies, part of the January camp, against Venezuela and Costa Rica.

However, the next scheduled match, as of now, will see the men of Mauricio Pochettino face Panama in the CONCACAF Nations League semifinal.
