Jimer Fory reinforces Portland Timbers, from Colombia

The Oregon team has closed the signing of the talented Colombian footballer Jimer Fory, who arrives from Independiente Medellín.

The left-wing player, who can play both in attack and defense, signed a contract until 2028, with an option to extend it until 2029.

Last season, Foddy had a key role in the Colombian league, adding valuable minutes with Independiente Medellín, as indicated by Transfermark.

His arrival represents a leap in quality for Portland Timbers, who are looking to compete with a more solid team in the MLS 2025.

Neil Pierre, the new jewel of Philadelphia Union, ascends to the first team

On the other hand, Philadelphia Union has decided to bet on its youth team, promoting young defender Neil Pierre to the first team.

At just 17 years old, Pierre has already signed a contract as a Homegrown Player until 2028, with an option to extend until 2029.

The young defender has shown his potential in Philadelphia Union II, where he played 33 games in the MLS Next Pro, scoring 2 goals and registering 1 assist.

His promotion to the first team represents a great opportunity to establish himself as one of the brightest prospects in American soccer.

An MLS that bets on the future

With these moves, Portland Timbers and Philadelphia Union demonstrate their commitment to the development of young talent, a factor that is becoming increasingly important in the league.

The 2025 season promises to be one of the most competitive in MLS history, and these signings reinforce the idea that the future of American soccer is in good hands.
