The first game of the MLS is just ten days away. Teams are playing their last friendly matches and reinforcing the details for the upcoming season.

With a horrible preseason, the Union decided to sign a new forward. Scoring one goal into friendly matches turns the alarms on the team.

The Union recreated what Sporting Kansas City did and signed an offensive key player.

The Philadelphia Union secured the signing of Bruno Damiani from Nacional on a deal of around $3 million. The Uruguayan will sign a three-year contract.

The 22-year-old forward arrived to change the face of the team’s preseason.

What does Bruno Damiani bring to the Union?

Bruno played last season in CA Boston River on loan from Nacional. His team finished fourth in the Uruguayan first division. Damiani found his place at Boston Rivers and didn’t waste the opportunity.

The striker arrived at the Unions as a future bet for the team. Damiani’s playing style is similar to Cavani’s or Luis Suarez’s. He is a killer inside the box.

Everything you throw at him near the goal will end up inside. His height makes him a threat to every defender in the air.

He will have a difficult moment before entering the starting eleven, but he has the qualities to make it. Damiani’s first touch helps him evade opponent pressure and create goal-scoring opportunities for his teammates.

Bruno Damiani’s last season stats

Bruno Damiani played 37 games with the CA Boston River. According to Transfermarkt, during those games, the striker scored 12 goals and delivered five assists.

Damiani finished as one of the top goalscorers in the Uruguayan first division.

He played one game with the national team in a friendly match against Costa Rica.
