A few days before the start of the 2025 MLS season, the teams have shown an impressive level in the preseason, fine-tuning details for what promises to be a historic year for the league.

In addition to the presentation of their new kits with striking and modern designs, the clubs have worked in the transfer market to strengthen their squads.

FC Dallas and Minnesota United have added international talent, while teams such as Houston Dynamo and Real Salt Lake have left great impressions in their preparation.

Federico Redondo’s words comparing Inter Miami with Premier League teams

One of the most talked about topics in recent days has been the statement by Federico Redondo, Argentine midfielder for Inter Miami, who said that if his team played in the Premier League, it could compete for Europa League spots.

Redondo suggested that Javier Mascherano’s team could fight between fifth and eighth place in the table, placing itself in the area where clubs such as Manchester City, Newcastle, Bournemouth and Aston Villa are currently located.

However, this opinion has been highly debated, since, although Inter Miami has figures such as Lionel Messi, Luis Suárez, Sergio Busquets, Jordi Alba and Redondo himself, several of these players are no longer in their best physical condition.

Despite having won the Supporters’ Shield in 2024, as indicated by Transfermark, the team ended up being surprisingly eliminated in the playoffs by Atlanta United, which raised many questions about its true competitiveness at the international level.

Expectations for the start of MLS 2025

Beyond the controversy, MLS 2025 promises to be one of the most exciting seasons in the history of the league.

With heavily reinforced teams, renowned players and an increasing level of competition, the league is looking to continue attracting attention worldwide.

The action will begin on February 22, with big matches that will mark the beginning of a new era for soccer in North America.
