MLS is at a key moment with the transfer window still open and several teams strengthening before the official start of the season in mid-February.

Teams like Minnesota United have strengthened their roster to be more competitive, with great ambitions and above all, seeking to be great opponents in the Western Conference.

Meanwhile, San Diego FC, in its first preseason, has shown that it is aligning all the necessary aspects to debut in the MLS with a solid team ready to compete at the highest level.

Charlotte FC blocks Patrick Agyemang’s departure

The 24-year-old striker, Patrick Agyemang has had a great time with Charlotte FC, and although it was expected that he could make the jump to Europe, the club has decided to close any possibility of a transfer.

This is largely due to Charlotte not signing another striker, which means Aguillemant remains a key piece in their offensive scheme.

The big focus in recent days has been the great interest from several European teams, particularly from KAA Gent of Belgium, for this striker. But Charlotte FC did not accept any offer.

His effectiveness and presence in the area have made him a fundamental player for the team, which is why Charlotte FC is not willing to let him go at this time.

Possible renewal and the future of Charlotte FC

With a contract until December 2025, the club could choose to renew Agyemang with the intention of selling him in the future, possibly after the 2025 season.

Last season, Agyemang made 36 appearances, scoring 10 goals and providing 3 assists, clocking up nearly 2,000 minutes of play, as reported by Transfermark.

He remains one of the team’s most important pieces and an offensive reference in the MLS, who will now share the field with a fascinating attacker like Wilfried Zaha.

In addition, Charlotte FC has shown to be in great form in the preseason, with an outstanding goal-scoring performance in its last match against Sporting Kansas City, which generates high expectations for its performance in the season that is about to begin.
