With the start of MLS 2025 getting closer, teams continue to strengthen their rosters and face significant losses in the transfer window.
While some clubs have suffered key losses, such as Columbus Crew and FC Cincinnati, others such as New York Red Bulls and Portland Timbers have made high-level signings to strengthen their projects.
One of the most striking cases is that of FC Cincinnati, which recently let a player go to the Brasileirão, but continues to search for important reinforcements to maintain competitiveness in the Eastern Conference.

FC Cincinnati has its sights on Agustín Martegani
FC Cincinnati are reportedly interested in signing Boca Juniors attacking midfielder Agustín Martegani, according to reports from Strikers.
The 24-year-old Argentine player has proven to be an important piece in the team, although he currently does not have a guaranteed starting spot.
This season, he has played 12 games and accumulated more than 500 minutes on the pitch, making him an attractive option to reinforce the American club’s midfield.
Martegani has a contract with Boca Juniors until December 2028, and his market value, according to Transfermarkt, is 1.7 million euros.

What are the transfer possibilities?
Cincinnati would be evaluating a possible definitive purchase, as the team seeks to improve its performance compared to the 2024 season, where it had difficulties to be a protagonist in the Eastern Conference.
FC Cincinnati’s goal for this season is to compete better and ensure its presence in the playoffs, something that was not easy in 2024.
With renewed ambitions and the possible signing of Martegani, the team will seek to make a leap in quality in the 2025 MLS and establish itself as a major rival in the league.
