The 2025 MLS season is starting in less than a month. Teams in the league are making the last moves to have the best roster possible.

However, the transfer market in other leagues is finishing, so they are seeking some players from the MLS.

For example, the San Jose Earthquakes and the probable departure of Hernan Lopez Muñoz. Or Houston Dynamo parting ways with Sebastian Ferreira.

And now, it’s the time of St. Louis CITY SC. FC Copenhague wants their star goalkeeper, Roman Burki. The Danish club wants the Swiss player to be their first-choice goalkeeper.

What should St. Louis CITY SC do?

Roman Burki arrived at the team in 2022. Since then, he has become one of the best goalkeepers in the league. Let’s remember that St. Louis CITY SC had their debut season in the MLS in 2022.

The former Borussia Dortmund player played a crucial role in the season’s success.

This season, Burki started 32 games out of 34. Despite having a good year, it was nothing compared to their debut season, where they finished 1st in the West Conference with the Swiss as the best player.

Not enough, with his experience and his two full seasons in the club, he proved he was the best player on the roster, and he was named captain.

At first sight, the team relied too much on Roman Burki to let him go, with less than a month to start the league.

However, on the other hand, if a juice offer arrives at the desk, the club won’t have any problems selling their key player.

A solid payment could change everyone’s mind regarding selling a player. Because with that money, they could replace Burki with another goalkeeper with the same attributes.

Although St. Louis could get a decent amount of money for the player, having a goalkeeper like Burki is hard to find.

He has proven that the club needs him. And he is happy in the club.
